UIDAI - Unique Identification Authority of India launched a new portal where users can easily download and update their information via online. The portal launched on Apr 17, 2017.
About UIDAI:
UIDAI refers to a Unique Identity. More refers to an Aadhaar card. The UID number consists of 12 digits unique number.
As of now, more than 1.2 billion people have enrolled the UIDAI card in India.
Under the Aadhaar Act 2016 " UIDAI is responsible for enrolment and authentication process of all stages of UID lifecycle. Developing the policy, maintaining the data, perform a security check, removing the duplicate Ids.
The main Head Quarters are located in New Delhi.
Features of Aadhaar Card:
It's the first identity, which covers DOB, Address in one single Id card.
With the help of the aadhaar card, you can open the bank account, mobile, Pan card, LPG, Passport, etc.
Other services provided by the government of India.
The Process of Registration:
With over 8+ Regional Head Quarters in India, people now can easily register the Aadhaar card. The process is quite simple, and you need to have an at least one document which has to be used as a process of verification. POI - Proof of Identity, POA - Proof of Address are necessary documents.
The next step is to contact the enrolment office nearby your location. With the help of the online portal, you can eve track the registration offices. Just enter your location details, city/state/Pin code - The portal will automatically display the enrolment offices. Contact, and submit the application form.
Track The Application Status:
Once you enrolled for the new aadhaar card, you can track the status of your request application. To track the status of an application you need to have an acknowledgment number (EID).
The EID number consists of 14 digits which is available on ack slip.
Aadhaar Card Download:
With the help of the online aadhaar self service update portal. You can download the aadhaar card. On the portal, just enter your UID number and date of birth. After confirmation, the web page will redirect to a new page where you can access aadhar card download option. You can use this E-aadhaar for Identity purpose.
Update or Correction Changes:
With the help of the UIDAI, you can update your UID card. Just visit the official website, and click on update request form. You need to enter your mobile number. After all that a new application form will display on the screen and make necessary updates as per your requirement.
Track Your Update Request:
Once you have done necessary changes, you can now track the update request number (URN) to track the application. URN number is mandatory for future reference.
Lost UID Card?
Lost your UID number or card? The portal will have all the options for the users. In a single click, you can quickly retrieve the number. Just enter your Name, Date of birth, Mobile number. You will receive a one-time password (OTP) for a verification process. If you don't receive the OTP, contact the nearest help desk office to update the details.
